The smart phone just got a little smarter. As expected, today Google launched its new product, Google Wallet. It’s currently only available to Sprint Nexus S owners, and only two payment methods: a pre-paid Google card (which anyone can use) and Citi MasterCard. It’s not certain as to when it will open up to other users, but for those who can test it out there is a small bonus; give Google Wallet a test and Google will send a $10 gift card your way. According to LAtimes.com, “Smart phone commerce will really get kick-started next year when a whole raft of phones are expected to have the crucial technology that makes it possible.”
Do you think this technology will eventually make credit cards obsolete?
